| My
neighbor's child was just diagnosed with cancer. She always seemed
so healthy. What causes this in children? There
is no one simple answer to why a child gets cancer. In most situations,
we can only make educated guesses.
What we do know
is that we can reduce the rates of cancer in children and adults.
Breastfed babies have less teenage cancer. We have to keep youngsters
on the proper diet, keep their colons clean, and expose them to
fewer additives and to fewer cancer-causing agents (carcinogens).
Cooked meat has more carcinogens than cooked fruits and vegetables.
A diet high in fruits and vegetables and grains keeps the colon
clean and is associated with lowered incidence of breast, colon,
and cervical cancers.
Pesticides have
been linked to cancer in studies of laboratory animals. To reduce
your child's risk of exposure to these significant known carcinogens,
make every effort to raise your children on a diet of organic
fruits, vegetables, and grains that were raised without chemicals
either deposited in the soil or sprayed on the crops.
If we raise our
children without processed, pesticide-ridden foods and teach them
good eating patterns, they'll enjoy the benefits throughout a
lifetime. |
